The bangs?? What about the bangs?!

Once we were back in Rome we decided to get all you can eat sushi (when in Rome...?) You can order as much sushi as you want but you have to finish all of it, or else you will be charged for the extra sushi. Now I can eat A LOT-do I need to remind you of the pancake cruise? yes?

That is a hell of a lot of food. And I ate every last bite. I didn't think food comas existed until I got home and literally could not move until the next day. But I digress.

This was the most sushi I had ever eaten. Even more than when Megan McCawley and I ordered so much sushi for the two of us, they gave us free edamame for "the party we were having". After the first two rolls we weren't completely satisfied so Chelsea, Kady and I ordered another one while Maddie and Abby ordered two more. Seems we ordered huge effing sushi rolls because they brought out rolls similar in size to this.

I could be exaggerating slightly. But they were large. I was just sitting there thinking how we were going to eat all that sushi.

Halfway through my roll I started to feel like I was starring in my own personal version of Man vs. Food. When I put that last piece of sushi in my mouth I felt like I had overcome a personal victory. I looked at Maddie and Abby who still had another entire roll each to eat and were looking at their sushi like:

I decided to be a good friend and help Abby out by eating a single piece of her sushi. After putting it in my mouth I immediately regretted my decision and proceeded to spit it into a napkin. Which sparked the idea of doing that to the rest of the sushi. Some would say we cheated the system. We like to say we were thinking outside the box. I think the waitress was a little skeptical about us finishing all the sushi when she saw multiple rolled up napkins on our plates but no questions were asked. High five!

Once we got back to the apartment, we digested by watching a little stand-up Ellen comedy, called Here and Now. Great stuff, great great stuff. I especially related to this bit (3:35):

If you don't understand why this is so funny let me just redirect you to a picture of that time I went to the Hair Cuttery for a simple trim of my bangs and ended up with bangs that did not even touch my eyebrows.

You could be thinking, "Aw Laura that isn't that short!!", or if you actually saw me on the rare occasion I wasn't wearing a headband, you could be laughing your ass off. This picture was taken probably a full MONTH after I had already had my bangs cut. It was really uncomfortable when the girl asked me if I liked my haircut. I'm not even sure what I said because I try to block it out of my memory.

After walking sprinting out of Hair Cuttery I immediately called Chelsea Farrall to tell her I was seriously considering pulling a pop star Britney Britney and shaving my head.

You would think, wow Laura, good thing you will never go back to Hair Cuttery again!! Oh....how wrong you are. But that is a different story for a different time.

Anyway, after that nice trip down memory lane, we finished Here and Now and went to bed because our next destination was Florence!

Poor Pompeii

Our last stop in the Amalfi Coast was Pompeii, which was an ancient Roman town destroyed by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. While the tour was a little lengthy and at times I felt like this:

it was still pretty neat and historical and all that jazz. My dad would have enjoyed it.

Kady and her crush.

 Before Mount Vesuvius.

And after.

Can you see the face?

This way to the brothel!

Why? What's with the wings?

Souvenirs for everyone!

To end the day we had some delicious gelato! Even the doggie enjoyed part of Maddie's cone!

Goodbye Amalfi Coast! I never want to leave you but more of Italy awaits!!!

Positano Paradise

The next day we took a bus to Positano which has a black sand beach.

Ebony and ivory.

After laying out for a while we took a boat to go cliff jumping and cave swimming!!

Best 10 euro I have ever spent.

When we climbed the rocks I got to the top and just looked down like:

But then I saw a 6 year old girl jump so I figured it was okay.

After cliff jumping we went to go cave swimming!

This was the coolest thing I have ever done in my entire life (besides possibly getting my picture at Platform 9 and 3/4 but that's a different story)! I wish my camera was water-proof so I could have taken pictures of how beautiful the water was with the sun shining through it but just use your imagination.

Cave swimming blew the Blue Grotto out of the water (punny right?) I tried googling images of cave swimming in Positano but nothing even came close to how gorgeous it was! We then headed back to the beach to lay around and do absolutely nothing. It was fantastic.

Kady on a boat.

For lunch we got the most DELICIOUS AMAZING sandwiches we have ever eaten. Seriously. Amazing.

And it doesn't even look that good.

Typical Italian sandwich- pesto, mozzarella, sun-dried tomatoes and turkey.

For the rest of the day we went swimming and laid on the beach.

Eventually we had to leave to catch the bus that would take us back to Sorrento but I contemplated just living in Positano forever.

When we got back to Sorrento we had dinner and went to a rooftop bar that was awesome until it proceeded to pour. Excellent.

The next day we were to go to Pompeii, which would be our last day in the Amalfi Coast.
